JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market and refers partly to Japanese cars that have been imported but were made specifically for the Japanese market, these cars usually have variances (some small, some big) not found on the models that are made for international markets. Because Japan has very strict car ownership laws, cars are kept only for a short time, this has created a huge export market for these cars into other countries and has created a new genre (JDM) for car enthusiasts.
