So Excellent – A New Printer

The First Sticker Printing Machine for The Art of StickersAfter 5 years of owning this sticker printing machine, it became time to upgrade to a bigger and better machine.  A new printer will be received on Monday and the old one will be gone as it was traded in on the new machine.  This machine and the new one are both manufactured by a Japanese company called Roland DG group. Their printers are hand assembled in Japan which is a very rare production method for these times.

Roland are a very cool company, part of them also produces musical instruments, effects and equipment that is well designed, excellent quality and produces fantastic sounding sounds.  If you’ve been out and about today and listened to music, chances are good that you’ve seen something produced on a Roland printer and heard a sound that had been fed through a Roland product.

The old printer has not missed a single beat in the past 5 years and still prints just as well as it did when it was first purchased.  It will be sadly missed –  yeah nah not really, it’ll be a distant memory once the new printer starts printing.

The old printer is a CMYK printer which means that it uses 4 colours to achieve its range of colours.

Al Pacino In Scarface "Say Hello To My Little Friend"So now it’s time to say goodbye to my old little friend and say hello to my new humdinger friend.

Bigger fatter beautiful wider vibrant colours

The new printer is 8 colour – CMYKLcLm + White + Light Black.  What does this mean?

  • C = Cyan
  • M = Magenta
  • Y = Yellow
  • K = Black (key)
  • Lc = Light Cyan
  • Lm = Light Magenta
  • + White
  • + Light Black

It means that we can print onto clear vinyl with white ink and create some really great looking stickers and decals, having Light Cyan, Light Magenta and Light Black will mean that certain tones like skin and nature tones will have a much broader range of colour making photographic printing more life like.  The print will just pop out.

Colour in your world with The Art of Stickers

The new printer prints at over twice the width as the old printer and will print up to 1600mm wide which in the world of printing is classed as Large Format Printing.  Once we stock the many different types of media that can be printed on, we’ll be offering a larger range of products.  We will be able to handle many different types of signs and stickers including car wraps and building signage and producing them with state of the art printing technology.

It really is so excellent
